Question by Someone - A Former Volunteer

A former volunteer wrote in to us -

To the founder's followers:

You have access to your founder's biography. Check where his PHD cert is from, and then write to the awarding university to confirm the credibility of his certificate.

If it is found to be questionable, you can decide if you should continue following your founder or leave. It explains a lot about his "integrity", or lack of.

Sharing by Someone - Initial Judgement Wasn't Wrong

A few years ago, when I first met the founder, he looked very courteous. However, I had an immediate dislike for him. I thought: What a fake?! But then I thought that maybe I was too quick to judge and maybe was bias and unfair. So I tried to be more open-minded and see things differently.

Some years later, I met and stayed with a former uni student who was in the uni's religious society involved with the institute. He shared his bad impressions of the founder. But because I was trying to think well of the founder, I did not consider much of what he said. However, after that I began to reconsider my initial judgement.

One day, I saw him walking with 2 of his followers. The way they behave and the way he behaved seemed very strange: Why is he behaving like some haughty lord? Why is the 2 young men acting like some submissive robots? It is weird.......... and disturbing.

Recently, I have been hearing more and more bad reports from different people about the founder and what goes on inside the institute. Most people are not aware of his very bad temper and how he psychologically manipulates his close disciples. Because he puts on a public smiling face and "compassionate" refined tone and is very good at faking all that.

Glad that some people found the courage to leave that place. I hope more do. (Members, if you're reading this, remember: There's life outside the institute, a better one!)

I agree with the "arrogance" assessment. Although he publicly portrays himself as humble, especially towards monks and nuns, he seems to have a high and mighty and holier-than-thou attitude. Disgusting........

I also believe the doctorate is fake, and lately, he seems to avoid using it. Has anyone actually seen his cert? Hmmm.... wonder what else is fake.

Please keep up this blog, Iron Man. (You sure need some steel. Hahaha!) The institute and the founder have built a good public image. It looks very nice now, and the members are very proud of it. Therefore, I think it's fair to reveal its other side to give people a more balanced view of the institute.

Sharing by someone - Godly Arrogance

" After attending their undergraduate fun program, I decided somehow to not join any activities organized by them again. The whole atmosphere doesn't seem right. They worship the founder as if he is the god. Plus, ARROGANCE!!!!!! They disguised it as confidence, but in my definition, it is arrogance!! "

Assumptions as usual

Apparently some people inside the institute are reading this site now. And their usual speculation of who is behind this, poor names are being mentioned, names of old friends who no longer active in the institute. Names of people who suffered so much back then, I'm happy that you people left, although the psychological trauma may still be with you, but I wish you heal soonest.

If this religion is about cultivating and calming the mind, why are they being psychologically stirred so badly?

Where does the Doctorate come from ?

The institute's founder apparently holds a doctorate degree. But my question is ; where does it come from? Did anyone question his qualification ?

I understand he completed his degree in an European university, while his post graduate masters in a local institution. I remember hearing his profile being read in public that his doctorate degree comes from "Canterbury University, UK". But from what I remember, he did not leave the country to further study.

Distant learning some says. But a simple google search on the internet reveals that "Canterbury University" exist in two places ; University of Canterbury in New Zealand and Canterbury Christ Church University in England. Both universities do not offer distant learning for the doctorate degree that he obtained.

However, there is one Canterbury University that offers distant learning for the said doctorate program. However, read up here for details;  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canterbury_University_(Seychelles) .

Sharing by Someone - The Institute is superior

When I was an active volunteer at the Institute, the founder is very fond of blowing his own trumpet for the Institute's success of growing in a short duration of time. No doubt, I will agree that the growth that took place within a short period of time is praiseable, but what was uncalled for, is the need for him to speak in a very arrogant way, condemning other organizations. The worst part, in my opinion, the organizations that he condemns of are organizations that are 'friendly' with the institute.

Organizations that co-organize events together with the Institute, appears friendly in front, and condemning them behind. This is very scary thing, especially for a religious leader who is very charismatic and influencial.
